What we aim for

This site is built against the principles of WCAG 2.2 level AA. That is a target we design and test towards, not a certification: we have not commissioned an external audit of this site, and we will not claim conformance we cannot evidence.

What that means in practice

  • Semantic HTML with a logical heading structure on every page.
  • Every interactive element reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
  • A skip link to the main content as the first focusable element.
  • Text and interface colours checked for contrast against their backgrounds.
  • Form fields with real labels, and errors described in text rather than by colour alone.
  • Motion reduced automatically when the operating system requests it.
  • Content that remains readable when the browser is zoomed or text is enlarged.
  • No information conveyed by colour alone.

Known limitations

We treat accessibility as ongoing work. If we become aware of a problem we cannot fix immediately, it will be listed here with what we intend to do about it.

Tell us when we get it wrong

If you encounter something on this site that you cannot use, please write to us via the contact page and describe what happened, which page you were on, and which browser or assistive technology you were using. We will respond and fix what we can.
