Digital consultancy and software development

Digital solutions built around your organisation.

From professional websites to specialised internal platforms, we turn the way your organisation actually works into software that works with it.

What we do

Four ways we help organisations work digitally

All services
01

Websites

Professional digital presence built around your organisation and brand.

02

Custom platforms

Purpose-built software for the workflows generic systems cannot handle.

03

Digitalisation

Turning manual processes into efficient digital workflows.

04

Private systems

Solutions for organisations that need more control over infrastructure and data.

The problem

Off-the-shelf software rarely matches how an organisation actually works.

So the gaps get filled by people. A spreadsheet next to the system. A status field used for something it was not designed for. A colleague who is the only one who knows the exception. It works — until it becomes the process.

Our answer

Design the technology around the requirement, not the other way round.

Sometimes that is a platform nobody has productised. Sometimes it is an integration between systems that were never meant to meet. Sometimes it is a website. And sometimes the honest answer is that the process should change and the software should stay small.

How we work

Capabilities

Not every process needs software. When one does, this is usually the shape it takes.

A selection of what we build most often. Which one fits — or whether one does at all — follows from understanding the work first.

See what we can build
One automated rule An event leads to a rule, the rule to an action, and the action is logged. A branch from the rule sends anything it should not decide to a person. EVENT RULE ACTION LOG EXCEPTION
Every one of these systems is built from the same small unit: something happens, a rule decides, the system acts, and it is written down. Working out what the rule should refuse to decide is the part worth paying for.

Customer portal

A private area where clients see their own cases, documents, status and history — instead of asking for them by email.

Employee portal

One place for internal information, requests, forms and approvals, with access decided by role rather than by who knows which folder.

Booking platform

Appointments, rooms, equipment or people — with availability rules, confirmations, reminders and a calendar view that matches how you allocate.

Assessment platform

Structured tests, evaluations or reviews with defined criteria, scoring, reviewer roles and comparable results over time.

Case management

Cases with an owner, a state, a deadline and a full history — so nothing is finished twice and nothing is quietly forgotten.

Workflow automation

The repetitive part of a process handled by the system: routing, reminders, generated documents, scheduled exports and status changes.

Internal database

A proper register for the information currently living in a spreadsheet — validated, searchable, permissioned and safe to share.

Management dashboard

The numbers that actually drive decisions, on one screen, updated from the systems that produce them.

Systems and data control

Your systems. Your infrastructure. Your choice.

Not every organisation wants its core business information inside someone else’s platform. We design solutions to run where it makes sense for you.

  • Hosting and infrastructure
  • Access and permissions
  • Backups and retention
  • Deployment and change
  • Integration with existing systems
  • A documented route out

Our approach

Understand first. Build second.

01

Understand

We talk to the people who do the work, not only the people who commission the project. What is the organisation actually trying to achieve, and where does the current way of working get in the way?

02

Analyse

The current workflow is mapped and the friction named: manual steps, duplicated data, missing overview, work that only one person can do. Then we separate what is worth changing from what is not.

03

Design

User experience, data model and system architecture are designed together — because a good interface on the wrong data model is a short-lived success.

04

Build

Development happens in visible increments on a stable, maintainable technology set. You see working software early and often, not a demo at the end.

05

Test

Functionality, usability, performance, access control and behaviour under real data. Including the cases nobody wants to think about: wrong input, interrupted work, a user who should not see something.

06

Implement

Deployment is the easy half. The other half is migration, training, documentation and being present while the organisation changes how it works.

07

Improve

Real use produces better requirements than any workshop. We plan for the second version from the start, so improving the system does not mean rebuilding it.

Why ISTALIF

Consulting that can build. Engineering that asks why.

Advice you cannot implement is expensive. Software built without understanding the problem is more expensive. We do both parts, which is why the reasoning behind a decision survives all the way into the code.

Where should a system live?

Self-hosted, private hosting or a managed platform: the honest version of this decision has more than one axis, and none of the options is inherently secure.

Have a process that should work better?

Tell us how it works today. We will tell you honestly whether technology is the answer — and what it would take.
